inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) stated that they are ready to collaborate with the Ministry of Environment (KLH) in an effort to preserve the environment through education and law enforcement.

This readiness was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Chief of INP, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the Minister of Environment (LH)Hanif Faisol Nurofiq at INP Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/28/2025).

"In principle, INP is ready to support whatever becomes the policy and what is stated in the cooperation agreement to support the quality of the Indonesian environment as it is indeed a global demand," said the Chief of INP.

In the meeting, said General Sigit, the discussion was about the poor quality of the environment in Indonesia, especially related to air problems, waste problems, and the potential for pollution due to the use of hazardous chemicals.

According to him, concrete steps are needed to resolve the problem, starting from education, prevention, to law enforcement, because it concerns people's lives.

"On the one hand, of course, there are more concrete steps (law enforcement) so that there is compliance in it," continued Sigit.

Furthermore, General Sigit said that the Bhayangkara Corps also supports the Ministry of Environment's innovation in reducing air pollution, one of which is planting mangroves to reduce the burden of CO2 (carbon dioxide).

"With the new formation of  Ministry of Environment, the ministry can be more focused in their work with their programs," he said.
