Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo deployed thousands of personnel across Indonesia on Saturday  (21/3/2026) to secure the 2026 Eid al-Fitr celebrations, ensuring public safety during the massive annual migration and upcoming peak return flow predicted for 24 March 2026.

"We are present to escort these journeys so that happiness arrives safely and families can gather in joy," he said during a video briefing in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.

The Traffic Corps recorded a 4.26 percent increase in vehicle volume during the recent 2026 homecoming peak. Despite higher traffic, Chief Sigit highlighted a successful 3.23 percent decrease in fatal accidents compared to the previous year, attributing the improvement to strategic monitoring at integrated security posts.

As millions return home, the INP and the Indonesian Military (TNI) maintain a heavy presence at transit hubs and major highways.
