Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said on Saturday (21/3/2026) that Indonesia’s economic growth is projected to reach 5.7 percent in the first quarter of 2026, driven by resilient domestic consumption during the fasting month Ramadan despite escalating geopolitical conflicts involving Iran and the United States-Israel.

"The latest figures suggest that economic growth could hit between 5.6 to 5.7 percent," he said during a press conference at the Directorate General of Taxes, as cited by antaranews.com.

The Minister emphasized that the government has successfully absorbed global shocks to prevent domestic volatility. This strategic mitigation ensures that public purchasing power remains stable, shielding the local market from rising international oil prices and supply chain disruptions caused by Middle Eastern instability.

To maintain this momentum post-Eid, the Ministry plans to accelerate government spending and subsidize fuel costs. Minister Purbaya remains committed to strengthening domestic demand as a primary buffer against a potential global slowdown, ensuring the national economy continues its upward trajectory.
