Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has guaranteed a fully transparent investigation into the brutal assault of two students by a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officer in Southeast Maluku.
The suspect, identified as Senior Brigadier MS, allegedly struck 14-year-old AT, causing fatal head injuries, and severely assaulted the victim's older brother, NK, resulting in broken bones.
"I emphasize that we will handle matters such as this with complete transparency," Chief Sigit said during a press briefing in Jakarta on Sunday (22/2/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The INP confirmed that the perpetrator is currently undergoing intensive investigation for both criminal violations and internal ethics breaches. High-ranking officials have formally apologized to the victims' families, acknowledging that such violent actions directly contradict the institution's core values.
INP Head of Public Relations Division Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir invited the public to monitor the legal proceedings to ensure accountability and maintain public trust.
