Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a stern condemnation on Sunday (22/2/2026) following remarks by US Ambassador Mike Huckabee suggesting that Israeli occupation of the West Bank is acceptable.
Indonesia joined a unified coalition, including the OIC and Arab League, to denounce the statement as a provocative violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
"We express our firm rejection of these dangerous statements, which undermine regional stability and directly contradict the principles of peace and sovereignty," the joint ministerial statement declared, as reported by antaranews.com
The coalition emphasized that Israel holds no sovereignty over the Occupied Palestinian Territories and warned that endorsing annexation threatens the vision of a two-state solution.
Indonesia reiterated its commitment to Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders. Officials warned that such inflammatory rhetoric from a high-ranking diplomat only serves to exacerbate regional violence and derail ongoing efforts to achieve a comprehensive peace plan.
