Inp.polri.go.id - Depok. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed all police units to ensure swift and coordinated responses during national disaster emergencies.
Speaking at the Disaster Response Preparedness Ceremony at the Mobile Brigade Command Headquarters in Depok, West Java, on Wednesday (5/11/2025), he said that saving lives must remain the top priority.
“We must be able to move quickly to help communities in need. The key is rapid response and strong coordination,” Chief Sigit said, as quoted by antaranews.com
He added that police must also follow up initial rescue operations with post-disaster efforts, including trauma healing and field medical assistance.
The police’s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) teams have also been directed to assist in identifying victims and returning remains to families. The simultaneous nationwide drills, he said, aim to prepare officers to act as the frontline force in protecting and reassuring the public during disasters across Indonesia.
