Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman reported to President Prabowo Subianto that the country’s rice production in 2025 rose by 4.1 million tons, marking the highest increase since 2019.
The official figure, released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), shows national rice output reaching 34.77 million tons, up 13.54% from last year.
“We reported to the President that national rice production increased by 4.1 million tons, which is our strongest performance in five years,” Minister Amran said on Wednesday (5/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He added that national rice stocks are projected to exceed 3 million tons by year-end, ensuring stable food supply and prices.
Minister Amran also highlighted ongoing efforts to boost irrigation, land optimization, and agricultural downstreaming, which could create up to 1.6 million new jobs and enhance non-oil exports. The government continues market operations with Bulog to maintain rice prices below the retail ceiling.
