inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief emphasized the importance of establishing a balance between employers' expectations for continued operations and profitability, and workers' rights to a decent and prosperous life. 

The INP Chief delivered this message at the Grand Consolidation of the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI) in the MM2100 Industrial Estate, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Friday (9/11/2026). 

The event, themed "Industrial Relations, Fairness and Investment Conduciveness," was attended by approximately 2,000 workers from approximately 1,200 companies in the area, as well as representatives from the government, labor unions, employer associations, and industrial estate managers.

The INP Chief appreciated the consolidation organized by FSPMI, particularly the workers' spirit of struggle, which increasingly prioritizes friendship and dialogue with employers and the government. He stated that differences of interest in industrial relations are a normal dynamic, but must be resolved through deliberation, compliance with regulations, and a shared commitment to maintaining order.

"A balance needs to be found between the expectations of employers for continued operations and profit, and the hopes of workers for a prosperous life," emphasized the INP Chief.

He believes that workers should not be viewed solely as a factor of production, but rather as assets, partners, and part of the corporate family. Therefore, business continuity and the fulfillment of workers' rights should be positioned as two mutually reinforcing interests. 

Healthy companies will create opportunities for job creation and increased welfare, while a protected, skilled, and productive workforce will strengthen the competitiveness of the business world.

In a broader context, the INP Chief reminded that global geopolitical and economic dynamics are also putting pressure on the business world and employment. This situation demands closer collaboration between the government, employers, investors, and workers to maintain economic growth, expand employment opportunities, and avoid industrial relations conflicts that are detrimental to all parties.

The INP Chief also appreciated the discussion on labor regulations, which began with a meeting between labor unions and employer associations. This step is seen as a positive example of constructively seeking common ground, while upholding compliance with laws and regulations and protecting workers' rights.
