Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto inspected the security posts at Tribrata Jaya, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), and Stadion Madya to prepare for the papal Mass led by Pope Francis on September 5.
Chief Sigit emphasized on Wednesday (4/9/2024) the need for thorough security and service arrangements for the approximately 87,000 attendees expected at the event. He instructed all military and police units to provide excellent service and ensure smooth operations, including traffic management and parking.
“We are confirming that all security preparations for the event are in place,” he said, noting that adjustments to traffic flow would be necessary and advised the public to be aware of alternative routes.
For those unable to enter GBK or Stadion Madya, Videotron large screens will be set up at various locations to view the Mass. Attendees will be checked and given special wristbands for entry, ensuring safety for Pope Francis and all participants.
Commander Agus added that security will be divided into three rings with a total of 9,000 personnel involved, including Presidential Security Force, TNI, and INP forces.
