Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has confirmed that the INP will immediately formulate a comprehensive strategy to implement the recommendations proposed by the Commission for the Acceleration of Indonesian National Police Reform
The roadmap will be divided into short-term, medium-term, and long-term phases to ensure structured institutional improvement.
The reform recommendations, compiled into a 10-volume report spanning 3,500 pages, were officially presented to President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday.
"The INP welcomes the results of these recommendations. We have categorized them into a grand strategy based on governance and priority," Chief Sigit said during a press briefing at the Palace on Tuesday (5/5/2026), as reported by antaranew.com
A key point addressed by the INP Chief was the reform’s proposal to limit police officers' appointments to positions outside the INP structure. Chief Sigit noted that the institution would soon coordinate with the Coordinating Ministry for Law and other relevant ministries to discuss the legal and procedural implications of this proposal.
Chief Sigit expressed its commitment to strengthening the role of the National Police Commission, a move seen as vital for increasing external oversight and institutional accountability.
