Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) raised its commitment to combating online gambling as part of President Prabowo Subianto’s Astacita initiative focused on legal reform.

During a press conference on Saturday (2/11/2024), the INP Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency, Inspectgor General Asep Edi Suheri revealed that in October 2024, the INP uncovered illegal activities on the Slot8278 gambling site. 

Following this, additional suspects were arrested in early November, according to antaranews.com.

“This effort showcases the INP’s dedication to implementing President Prabowo’s seventh work program,” Chief Asep said, adding that INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has ordered the formation of a task force to tackle online gambling at every level.

Three new suspects linked to Slot8278, managed by a Chinese national, were arrested during the latest operation. In total, 10 suspects have been arrested, with two more still at large. 

The INP seized over Rp 70 billion in cash, along with vehicles and devices used for the gambling operations.

From June to November 2024, the INP uncovered 300 online gambling cases, arresting around 370 suspects, while also conducting community education and blocking gambling websites.
