Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Inspector General Hendro Pandowo, the Bangka Belitung Regional Police Chief, inspected the Bangka Belitung Police headquarter's food resilience gardens on Friday.

Joined by his deputy Brigadier General Tony Harsono and other senior officials, he participated in planting activities with local farmers during the visit.

Senior Superintendent Fauzan Sukmawasyah, the Bangka Belitung Police Head of Public Relations, revealed over the weekend that the food resilience gardens are located in two areas: Seliman village and the Bangka Belitung Police School (SPN).

The garden in Seliman village covers 7 hectares and includes 3,000 chili plants, 1,500 tomato plants, and a goat farm with 50 goats. In contrast, the SPN garden spans 5 hectares, featuring 15,000 chili plants, 12,000 tomato plants, and 12,000 corn plants.

“This initiative supports the INP Chief’s call to enhance government efforts in food self-sufficiency,” said Chief Fauzan, adding that the police aim to convert vacant land into productive agricultural sites in collaboration with local farmers to increase local food production.
