Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang.  The Indonesian National Police officially ended Operation Ketupat 2026 at midnight on Wednesday, marking the end of a 13-day security mission that managed the highest homebound travel volume in the nation's history.

"As of 12 am, following the directives of Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the operation is formally closed," announced Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, the Head of the Traffic Corps, early Thursday (26/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com

During the mission, vehicle volume peaked at a record-breaking 270,315 units, a 4.62% increase from the previous year. Despite the surge, the Traffic Corps reported a 30.89% decrease in traffic fatalities and a 5.75% drop in total accidents compared to 2025.

While the primary operation has ended, authorities will transition to Enhanced Routine Activities (KRYD) to maintain public order and monitor a secondary return flow peak anticipated for 28 and 29 March 2026 Officials credited strategic one-way schemes and high public compliance for the successful management of the unprecedented holiday mobility.
