inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo personally inspected the Eid al-Fitr return flow at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Center in Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java. He ensured that traffic management and control were running smoothly and optimally.

Sigit revealed that the peak of the first wave of return flow occurred yesterday, Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Based on data, 256,338 vehicles entered Jakarta and its surrounding areas.

"This is higher than last year, with last year's figure being 223,163 vehicles. But thank God, we have more or less passed the peak of the return flow last night. We just need to manage the rest," said Sigit on Wednesday (3/25/2026).

Sigit ensured that the return flow was handled optimally and safely by implementing traffic engineering policies, including implementing national and local one-way traffic and contraflow.

However, Sigit stated that the police and other relevant parties continue to be vigilant and anticipate a second wave of return flow, noting that some travelers have chosen to postpone their return.

"So, as of last night, approximately 1,958,838 vehicles came. And we just checked again at 12:00 a.m., and there were 82,000, bringing the total to approximately 2,040,000 vehicles that have entered Jakarta," said Sigit.

Meanwhile, Sigit also reiterated his request to all his staff to remind travelers to prioritize safety. He urged drivers to rest if they feel tired.

"There are rest areas on toll roads, and there are also rest areas on arterial roads, including service posts, integrated posts, and weighbridges. This will help us significantly reduce the number of traffic accidents. Although nationally, we've seen a decline, we hope the number of traffic accidents won't be too significant by the return flow," Sigit explained.
