Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Traffic Corps launched the 2024 Safety Operation across the nation for 14 days from 4 to 17 March 2024 to address 11 specific types of traffic violations.
Senior Superintendent Eddy Djunaedi, the Head of Operations at the INP Traffic Corps, announced on Thursday (29/2/2024) that the operation will entail immediate enforcement measures through electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) and mobile patrols.
"We'll be issuing tickets through static, mobile, and handheld ETLE devices," he said.
The targeted violations include driving while using a mobile phone, underage driving, riding a motorcycle with more than one passenger, and driving under the influence of alcohol, antaranews.com reported.
"In addition, we'll be addressing violations such as motorcyclists not wearing Indonesian National Standard (SNI) helmets and drivers not wearing seat belts," Chief Eddy said.
Other violations include driving against traffic flow, exceeding speed limits, over-dimensional and overloaded vehicles, motorcycles using non-compliant exhausts, vehicles using signaling lights (strobes) and audible signals (sirens), as well as vehicles with special or secret license plates.
