Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police (INP) confirmed on Thursday (22/5/2025) that former President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), is authentic.

Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, the Director of the General Crime Investigation, said that that forensic examinations validated the diploma, issued under student number 1681/KT on 5 November 1985.

The diploma was tested against three samples from former president Jokowi’s classmates, analyzing paper material, print techniques, ink, stamps, and signatures. All results confirmed the documents originated from the same production process.

Former president Jokowi’s thesis, titled “Studi Tentang Pola Konsumsi Kayu Lapis Pada Pemakaian Akhir di Kota Madya Surakarta (A Study on the Consumption Pattern of Plywood in Surakarta)”, was also verified using typewriter analysis. Investigators identified a pica-style typewriter and confirmed printing via letterpress, consistent with period practices.

The investigation, launched after a public complaint filed by the Ulama and Activist Defense Team (TPUA), found no criminal indication regarding the documents.
