President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated the implementation of the presidential instruction (Inpres) on 24 regional roads with a total of 196 kilometers in Aceh Province to improve connectivity and mobility in the region. "Today we inaugurated 24 road sections with a total length of 196 kilometers and also a 60-meter bridge with a total fund cost of IDR 686 billion," said President Jokowi on Tuesday (10/15/2024). President Jokowi emphasized that roads and bridges play a very important role in connectivity between districts, cities and provinces, both for the mobility of people and the mobility of goods. According to him, damaged roads will hamper logistics mobility which ultimately affects the high prices at the community level as consumers. Therefore, in 2023, President Jokowi issued a Presidential Instruction (Inpres) on regional roads in order to build roads, repair damaged roads and bridges. Specifically in Aceh Province, the government has implemented the Presidential Instruction for 24 regional roads with a length of 196 km and a 60-meter bridge with the total cost of IDR 686 billion. The construction and repair of roads and bridges are spread across 14 districts in Aceh Province, namely in East Aceh, Bireuen, Simeulue, Aceh Besar, Pidie, Pidie Jaya, Langsa, North Aceh, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Jaya, Southwest Aceh, Aceh Nagan Raya, Gayo Lues, and Bener Meriah. "We hope that with the construction and repair of these roads, the mobility of people, the mobility of goods, and the speed of logistics distribution in Aceh Province will be better," said President Jokowi.
