Inp.polri.go.id - South Lampung. The Indonesian National Police(INP) has planted 883,000 hectares of corn as of Tuesday in South Lampung, marking significant progress toward its 2025 national production target.
INP Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo said the force aims to expand planting to one million hectares by December thisyear.
“The police have already planted 883 thousand hectares,” he said during a press briefing after a corn-planting event, as reported by antaranews.com
The initiative is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate for the police to support food self-sufficiency by boosting strategic crop production. Chief Dedi emphasized that coordinated planting efforts with the Coordinating Ministry of Food Affairs and local administrations continue nationwide, with South Lampung adding 89 hectares on Tuesday alone.
Projected harvests monitored by the INP Food Security Task Force are expected to reach 2.8 million tons this quarter, while the 2025 target stands at four million tons. State logistics agency Bulog’s strong corn absorption in Lampung, which is now nearing 90 percent, further reinforces confidence in meeting national goals.
