Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s national rice and corn supplies remain secure through 2025, eliminating the need for any imports, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan announced on Tuesday (2/12/2025) in South Lampung.
He attributed the stable production to President Prabowo Subianto’s consistent support for strengthening the food sector.
“Because of the President’s extraordinary support, we are not importing rice this year—not even a single grain,” Minister Zulkifli said during a press briefing after a corn-planting event, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He reported that state logistics agency Bulog’s rice reserves have reached about four million tons, a significant increase from last year, reinforcing national food resilience. He also highlighted the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s role in accelerating corn-planting programs, which has boosted production, as well as the military’s involvement in expanding farmland and stabilizing distribution channels.
These combined efforts, the minister said, reflect Indonesia’s collective strength in achieving a surplus without import dependence.
