The Damai Cartenz Task Force reports 79 people lost their lives in 2023 following numerous conflicts with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). “It is confirmed that in 2023, 79 people died after being shot and abused by KKB,” says Head of Damai Cartenz Task Force, Senior Superintendent Faizal Rahmadani on Wednesday (12/20/2023). Detailed by the task force chief, the victims are 20 Indonesian Military Force (TNI) soldiers, three Indonesian National Police (INP) members, 37 civilians, and 19 KKB members. Furthermore, police also recorded 84 wounded victims which includes 24 TNI soldiers, seven INP members, 50 civilians and three KKB members. The reports continued with the data of clashes with KKB reaching up to 20 incidents. The records also showed there are two assaults on security post by KKB, 19 gunshots, 39 shootings, 16 heavy abuse, five general abuse, five killings, 32 arsons, and other 52 disturbances in 2023. ad/ay/pr/nm
