Inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The Indonesian National Police (INP) deployed 5,641 security officers under a centralized police operation code-named Operasi Kepolisian Terpusat Garuda Bakti–2026 to secure the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 tournament.

The 16-day security operation, running from 21 September 2026 to 6 October 2026, was officially launched during a troop readiness assembly led by Deputy Main Operations Assistant to the INP Chief, Inspector General Laksana, at the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Directorate of Traffic’s Precision Field in Jakarta on Monday, (21/9/2026).

Reading the official directive from INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, he specified that the force comprises 102 command officers, 3,834 officers from the Metro Jaya Police, and 1,705 officers from the West Java Regional Police.

"Security success is measured not only by uninterrupted matches, but by ensuring the safety of players, officials, supporters, and the public," Chief Laksana said.

Security measures encompass stadiums, team transit routes, accommodations, training grounds, and vital objects across Jakarta and Bandung. The operation incorporates specialized units, including anti-terror, bomb squad, anti-drone teams, and digital space monitoring.

Indonesian Football Association  (PSSI) Secretary General Yunus Nusi and FIFA representatives appreciated the INP;s security preparations, which included over a month of advance coordination. 

The tournament takes place from 25 September 2026 to 5 October 2026, at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, featuring teams from eight participating countries.
