Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) immediately deployed emergency response teams and relief resources across East Nusa Tenggara to assist communities impacted by the powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake on Saturday (15/8/2026)6.
INP Head of Public Relations Division Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir expressed deep empathy for the victims, confirming that police personnel were dispatched straight to affected zones to conduct evacuations, provide medical aid, and establish emergency shelters.
"The INP stands in solidarity with the people affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara. We moved quickly to support the community, prioritizing public safety, evacuation, and emergency relief," he said in Jakarta.
Police forces in the field are collaborating with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Indonesian Military (TNI), and local administrations. In addition to search and rescue operations, The INP established integrated command posts, distributed emergency logistics, conducted security patrols to prevent public order disruptions, and urged residents to follow official updates from the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
