Brigadier General Desy Andriani, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency’s Director of the Directorate for Women and Children Protection (PPA) and Human Trafficking Eradication (PPO), announced on Friday (13/12/2024) three specialized sub-directorates in its newly-established structure.

The first sub-directorate focuses on crimes against women and vulnerable groups, led by Senior Superintendent Rita Wulandari Wibowo. The second one ddresses crimes against children, headed by Senior Superintendent Ganis Setyaningrum, while the third tackles human trafficking under Senior Superintendent Amingga Meilana Primastito.
Chief Desy emphasized the directorate’s priority on optimizing resources, manpower, and strategies. Full operational readiness is expected by January 2025.
She also highlighted the importance of collaboration with government agencies and stakeholders to address these crimes comprehensively, from prevention to prosecution.
The Directorate for PPA and PPO aimed to intensify efforts against crimes targeting vulnerable groups. Officially established under Regulation No. 13 of 2024 on 17 October 2024, the directorate strengthens law enforcement capabilities in these critical areas.
