Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Poengky Indarti, a commissioner of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), has praised the collaboration between the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Sub-regional Police and the United States of America's Federal Bureau of Investigaion (FBI_ in uncovering an international network involved in child pornography.
"The excellent cooperation between the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police and the Violent Crimes Against Children International Task Force at FBI sets an example for enhancing international cooperation between the INPand law enforcement agencies of other countries," she said in Jakarta on Sunday (25/2/2024).
The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, under the Jakarta Regional Police, have uncovered an international network engaged in the sale of same-sex child pornography videos through the Telegram messaging app. The authorities have arrested five suspects in the case.
Commissioner Poengky emphasized that the collaboration between the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police and the FBI enabled the tracking and mapping of the international online child pornography network.
Poengky asserted that children are vulnerable to various forms of violence, including sexual exploitation through international online pornography.
She hoped that the arrest of these international network perpetrators will lead to the dismantling of other similar networks in Indonesia that exploit children as objects of online pornography, thus ensuring the safety of Indonesian children.
