Inp.polri.go.id - Bandarlampung. Lampung Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Helmy Santika, has called on top officials and police offices to promptly distribute aid to residents affected by the Saturday flooding in Bandarlampung.
"Social assistance activities should be expedited to reach those affected by the floods, as they are in dire need," he said on Sunday (24/2/2024).
Chief Helmy said that the Lampung Police have actively engaged in disaster response efforts across the province, particularly in areas hit by floods.
"We have deployed personnel to assist with flood relief efforts. We've also set up posts and provided other necessary assistance for the community," he said.
Chief Helmy urged all police officers, especially those in flood-affected areas, to remain on high alert and conduct patrols to monitor post-flood developments.
"This is an emergency situation; all personnel must be on standby," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Sahroni Zakaria, the Chairman of RT 06, Zone 1, Rajabasa Village, Bandarlampung, revealed that approximately 65 percent of residents in his area sought refuge in mosques when the floods struck.
According to Zakaria, the most urgent needs for flood-affected residents currently include food and drinks, clothing, as well as vitamins and medicines, as many of their belongings were left behind at home.
