The Indonesian National Police (INP) Food Task Force says the relaxation of highest retail price of premium rice can indeed be the balancing of rice price in the market. “Obviously the INP Food Task Force supports the plan to go smoothly,” said head of the food task force, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan on Friday (3/15/2024). Whisnu explains that the government policy will be applied for the time being from March 10th to 23rd, 2024. The food task force has also done every inspection and monitoring for the implementation of highest retail price of premium rice. “INP Food Task Force along with ministries and related institution are working together on this case,” said Whisnu. Prior Ramadan, the INP Food Task Force has continuously monitor the availability and stability of food price in several market and modern retail. Moreover, the regional food task force has also executed the same operation to ensure smooth distribution. The rice distribution from production central area to consumer level, according to Whisnu, remains smooth as rice farmers began to harvest the product. Whisnu further emphasized that INP Food Task Force, both central and regional, will act firmly according to the applicable law if there are any threats that would disturb the distribution.
