Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian National Police (INP)  Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asserted that Regional Police Chiefs testifying in the Constitutional Court regarding lawsuits over the 2024 General Election results must provide substantial evidence. "We'll review the identity of the regional police chief. They need to provide evidence," he said on Friday (15/3/2024). While having evidence is crucial to ensure a smooth legal process at the Constitutional Court,  Chief Sigit allowed Regional Police Chiefs to testify at the Constitutional Court hearing, as reported by antaranews.com "I'm waiting for the name," he said, when asked about the name of the regional police chief. Previously, TPN, the national campaign team of the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD planned to present an unnamed regional police chief as a witness in the 2024 election dispute trial at the Constitutional Court. Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the INP Public Relations Division, has emphasized the police neutrality in handling election results to ensure the electoral dispute resolution adheres to laws and regulations. "We'll convey that the INP will obey and adhere to laws and regulations, mandated by the community. Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has emphasized police neutrality," he said. On the same day, Poengky Indarti, a member of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), highlighted that police neutrality is regulated by laws and internal regulations. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
