Inp.polri.go.id - Tanah Laut. Trainees from the 36th Cohort of the Indonesian National Police High Leadership School (Sespimti) conducted a domestic field study) in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan, on Friday (11/9/2026), to address forest and land fire (karhutla) prevention.
Held at the Pulau Sari Village Hall in Tambang Ulang District, the delegation, accompanied by Brigadier General Sangkan Bonaparte Silalahi, engaged in discussions with local government officials, military personnel, and residents affected by land fires.
"This program provides an excellent opportunity to exchange information and examine ground-level problems directly," said Tanah Laut Police Chief Superintendent Ricky Boy Siallagan. "We hope to gain constructive insights to enhance fire prevention and containment efforts."
He said that effective mitigation requires joint cooperation between law enforcement, local authorities, and communities. Chief Ricky urged local residents to stop using fire for land clearing to minimize environmental risks across the regency.
