Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP), in collaboration with the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), is set to host the INP Chief Cup Badminton Championship 2024 on  22 - 27.July 2024 

This event, held at the Jakarta State University Sports Hall, celebrates the INP’s 78th anniversary and includes both police officers and the general public.

"The INP is organizing a series of activities for its anniversary, including this badminton tournament," said the INP’s Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko on Thursday (18/7/2024).

He highlighted that this championship is part of ongoing sports development and serves as a benchmark for national achievement. He emphasized that the tournament aims to nurture young talent, providing them with opportunities to excel at higher levels in the future. The event is expected to identify promising young athletes who could become part of Indonesia's golden generation by 2045.

The championship features various age categories, with 480 participants in the U-15, U-17, and U-19 groups from the general public, and 64 teams from Polri units.

PBSI Deputy Secretary General Sukarno said that as manu as 1,212 athletes have registered, but only the top 32 in each age group will compete, based on national rankings.

"This selection ensures that only the highest-ranked athletes participate, maintaining a competitive standard," he explained.
