The Vice Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP) Commissioner General Gatot Eddy Pramono inaugurated INP-CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team) at the INP's Rupatama Division of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) located on the 7th floor of Presisi I Building, INP Headquarters in Jakarta (15/6/23).
INP-CSIRT's establishment empowers the incident response team to effectively address cybersecurity threats by promptly identifying, responding to, and restoring systems during attacks or security incidents. This team assumes a vital role in upholding cybersecurity within the INP, safeguarding sensitive data, and preserving the availability and integrity of information systems.
The vice chief emphasized the significance of this initiative in response to the escalating digital security threats.
"INP-CSIRT will engage in collaborations with various stakeholders, both domestically and internationally, to exchange information and experiences, thereby enhancing the cybersecurity capabilities of the Indonesian National Police," he stated on Thursday (15/6/23).
Furthermore, Inspector General Slamet Uliandi, the Head of the ICT Division, elaborated on the team's responsibilities and highlighted the efforts undertaken to develop capabilities and strengthen cybersecurity within the INP. The launch of INP-CSIRT exemplifies the proactive measures adopted by the INP to confront the ever-increasing complexities of cybersecurity challenges.
"It is anticipated that the establishment of this team will enhance the preparedness of the INP to effectively tackle and mitigate future cybersecurity threats," he said.
The inauguration was attended by the presence of high-ranking officials from the INP Headquarters, including Commissioner General Suntana, the Vice Head of the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN); Commissioner General Ahmad Dofiri, the Inspector of General Supervision; Commissioner General Wahyu Widada, the Head of Intelligence and Security; Commissioner General Purwadi Arianto, the Chief of Education and Training Institution; Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the Head of Public Relations Division; and other representatives of INP Headquarters' senior officials.
