The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) expressed its appreciation to Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), for his dedicated efforts in uncovering and addressing cases of human trafficking crimes (TPPO) over the past two weeks.

Rinardi, the Secretary General of BP2MI, emphasized that their organization has witnessed a significant increase in complaints due to the effective enforcement measures undertaken by the police. He emphasized the critical importance of collaborative efforts to comprehensively investigate incidents of human trafficking.

During a press conference held on Thursday (15/6/23), he emphasized, "This serves as a tangible demonstration of the government's commitment and involvement in addressing these issues."

He went on to elaborate on a significant revelation made during the recent operation, wherein it was discovered that illegal agents had devised a new tactic of producing counterfeit return tickets for the victims. In reality, these agents consistently failed to fulfill their promises of providing genuine return tickets.

"That's why this synergy is important. For the tickets, I request the immigration authorities to inquire about return tickets during the departure process," he said.
