Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian  National Police (INP) have launched a large-scale operation across the country to combat growing thuggery and ensure public safety and investor confidence, starting 1 May 2025 and targeting extortion, illegal levies, threats, intimidation, and violence.

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division’s Public Information Bureau Head, said on Tuesday (6/5/2025) that the campaign directed all regional and sub-regional police units to act.

“This is part of the INP’s commitment to national security and economic growth,” he  said. “The goal is to uncover organized groups and prosecute the perpetrators.”

The operation employs a combination of law enforcement, intelligence, preemptive, and preventive actions. The INP will also collaborate with the military, local governments, and stakeholders to ensure sustained results.

“Any form of thuggery disrupting public order or business activities will be dealt with firmly,” Chief Trunoyudo said, as quoted by antaranews.com
