After the incident of the forest area boundary measurement on Rempang-Galang Island, the Barelang Police Chief Senior Superintendent Nugroho Tri Nuryanto and the Riau Islands Regional Police Counselor Team held trauma healing activities at SDN 034 Galang elementary school and SMPN 022 Galang junior high school students aims at giving emotional support.
In his remarks during the opening of the event, Head of Psychology Sub-department Unit of the Human Resource Bureau of the Riau Islands Regional Police Pembina Fransiska sought to inspire, encourage and provide psychological support to children who may experience emotional impact.
The activity continued with an interactive dialog by the Chief of the Barelang Sub-regional Police Senior Superintendent Nugroho Tri Nuryanto with the students of SDN 034 Galang elementary school. According to the Chief , the police tried to create a familiar atmosphere and build a positive relationship between the police and the community.
"Through this dialog they can also talk about their feelings, exchange stories and talk from heart to heart," he said on Wednesday (13/9/23).
During the activity, children are given psychological reinforcement to help them overcome the impact of trauma they may experience. Providing positive motivation is also an important part in burning their spirits.
"Students from elementary and junior high schools in Rempang - Galang were given the opportunity to release negative emotions through entertaining games, yells, dances and songs. In addition to psychological assistance, the children also received gifts and ropes as a symbol of the Police's concern for the affected children." said Chief Nugroho.
Head of Public Relations Department of the Riau Islands Regional Police Senior Superintendent Zahwani Pandra Arsyad conveyed that the event was attended by s 112 students from SDN 024 Galang elementary school and 157 students from SMPN 022 Galang junior high school.
"This activity is a collaboration between the police and the local community in an effort to build closeness and trust," he said .
The spokesperson said that the activity provides psychological support needed by the younger generation, especially children, in minimizing the impact of trauma after the incident of measuring the boundaries of the forest area on the island of Rempang - Galang.
Those who attended the activity included Deputy Head of Barelang Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Syafrudin Semidang Sakti, ,Assistant Superintendent Ida Mardiana Qodiru, the Section Head of Driving License, Sub Directorate of Registration and Identification of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Pembina Fransiska along with the Riau Islands Regional Police Counselor Team, Female Police Officers at the Biro Human Resource Deparment of the Riau Islands Regional Police and at the Traffic Department of the Riau Island Regional Police.
