In commemorating Kartini Day and encourage gender mainstreaming in the police environment, the Directorate of the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency opened a training entitled Kartini Series 1: Gender – Train The Trainers at JCLEC, Semarang on Monday (4/21/2025).
This activity was attended by representatives of police members from various work units and is part of an effort to form agents of change who are able to create an inclusive, gender-fair, and responsive work environment to the needs of the community.
The Director of the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Directorate, Brigadier General Nurul Azizah, in her speech, emphasized the spirit of emancipation of R.A. Kartini was an inspiration in women's leadership in police institutions.
"Kartini Day is not just a historical commemoration, but a reflective momentum to reaffirm the spirit of women's emancipation in all aspects of life, including the world of leadership and law enforcement," said Nurul Azizah.
She also added that gender mainstreaming is not just a program, but a national strategy that has been stated in Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2000 and Perkap No. 1 of 2022.
In this training, participants are equipped not only with gender equality theory, but also skills to train other members so that the values of justice and equality can be implemented widely in the Polri work environment.
Furthermore, Nurul emphasized that true leadership is not about position, but about impact, influence, and inspiration.
"Be a trainer who not only teaches, but also inspires and moves. The knowledge gained is not to be kept, but to be shared and realized in real action," she advised the training participants.
At the end of her speech, Nurul officially opened the Gender Training - Train The Trainers training which takes place at JCLEC Semarang in the 2025 Fiscal Year.
