inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the diplomatic relations between Indonesia and France that have been established for 75 years are based on strong and solid political cooperation, as well as mutual respect between the two countries.
This was conveyed by President Prabowo in front of French President Emmanuel Macron in a bilateral meeting session with delegations from both countries at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (2/28/2025).
"Our bilateral relations are based on strong and solid political cooperation. Rooted in mutual respect and the principles that we all adhere to, namely sovereignty, independence, respect for human rights and democracy," said President Prabowo.
In his remarks, President Prabowo warmly welcomed President Macron's visit to Indonesia as part of a state visit to the Indo-Pacific region.
In addition to commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations, Indonesia and France also celebrated the strategic partnership that has been established for more than 10 years.
In the midst of the partnership that continues to grow, the President emphasized that there is still much potential for cooperation that can be utilized between Indonesia and France.
The Indonesian Head of State also hopes that the warm relations between Indonesia and France can contribute to geopolitical stability amidst the world's uncertain situation.
"I welcome today's meeting because the international geopolitical and geoeconomic situation is full of uncertainty. France and Indonesia can make a good contribution to geopolitical and geoeconomic stability," said President Prabowo closing his opening remarks.
