Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo says the number of traffic accidents in 2023 is slightly lower than those in 2022.
According to the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, there are 137,851 traffic accidents in 2022, while in 2023 there are 133,796 accidents.
“The number of traffic accidents in 2023 decreased 3% or 4,055 lower than in 2022, which is from 137,851 to 133,796 cases,” reports Sigit in a meeting at INP Grand HQ Main Meeting Room on Wednesday (12/27/2023).
Sigit detailed that the fatalities of the traffic accident are also declining from 27,531 in 2022 to 24,531 in 2023. The number, said Sigit, shows a decrease of 11% or 3,094.
Moreover, regarding the traffic law violation, Sigit reveals many of the law enforcement has been uphold through Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE). Across 2023, 414,356. traffic law violations have been captured by ETLE cameras.
“In 2023, ETLE has ticketed 414,356 people or 109,030 more than 2022 who only ticketed 305,326 traffic violators,” quote the INP Chief.
