inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Special Economic Crimes Investigation has gone to the field to conduct checks after a long queue for the purchase of 3 kg LPG cylinders in the Greater Jakarta area. From the results of the check, it was found that there was a decrease in the stock of subsidized LPG cylinders which was one of the reasons why not all people got the goods.
"There was a decrease in supply to agents which previously was able to stock 280 cans, 3 kg LPH to now only 130 per day," said the Director of Special Economic Crimes Investigation, who is also the Head of the Police Food Task Force, Brigadier General Helfi Assegaf, Tuesday (2/4/2025).
Helfi said that according to the police patrol on the field, no hoarding was found. He said that the queues occurred due to a circular regarding changes in distribution from retailers to direct agents or sub-distributors.
Helfi further explained that the queues also occurred because of the purchase requirements by including an ID card.
“So in short, from the people who used to be buying the LPG from the local retailers, now have to queue in one place,” explained Helfi further.
