Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Criminal Investigation Agency has uncovered a cross-border drug trafficking operation involving 38 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine smuggled from Malaysia in Bengkalis, Riau, after a joint surveillance and intelligence effort.
Director of Narcotics Crime Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso said the operation began with a tip-off about a planned meth delivery by sea from Malaysia. A team then tracked the suspects and intercepted them at a beach in the early hours of April 19, 2025.
One suspect, identified as Moch Hery, was arrested after disembarking from a speedboat.
“The meth was hidden in the boat—38 packages weighing a total of 38 kilograms,” Chief Eko said on Saturday (19/4/2025)
Police are interrogating the suspect and investigating the wider trafficking network believed to be operating between Malaysia and Indonesia.
