Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Grogol Petamburan Police Office in West Jakarta are coordinating with the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Division of International Relations after discovering the body of a man believed to be a foreigner in the Angke River.

The investigation follows the discovery of multiple identification documents, including a foreign ID, found in the victim’s clothing. In addition another foreign national claiming to know the deceased has approached the police, further prompting the need for international coordination.

“He says he knew the victim but is not an immediate family member, and the body is no longer fully recognizable,” said Grogol Petamburan Police’s Head of Criminal Unit Assistant Senior Inspector Aprino Tamara, on Friday (18/4/2025).

The Grogol Petamburan Police seeks an autopsy of the body at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) on Monday , after the public holiday.

Due to the presence of multiple IDs, police have yet to confirm the deceased's true identity, according to antaranews.com.
