inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the inauguration of the ammonia revamping project at PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur Plant 2. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  was also signed regarding fertilizer distribution in Indonesia.

"In addition to receiving an invitation to accompany the Chairman and the Minister of Agriculture to the inauguration of the revamping project at PT Kalimantan Timur, the project means the country can achieve efficiency, particularly in fertilizer production, by 10 to 16 percent," said Sigit in Bontang, East Kalimantan, Thursday (1/29/2026).

Sigit revealed that INP and PT Pupuk Indonesia also signed an MoU regarding fertilizer distribution in Indonesia to ensure that the fertilizer reaches farmers effectively.

"We signed the MoU for fertilizer distribution. This ensures that fertilizer reaches the right targets and reaches the farmers who need it," said Sigit.

Sigit also hopes that this MoU will ensure timely fertilizer distribution. Considering that any delay in the distribution process will result in national losses amounting to hundreds of trillions of rupiah.

"We hope it arrives on time, because we mentioned earlier that a one-week delay will impact productivity, and if we estimate that this occurs on a national scale, the loss would be one hundred trillion rupiah," said Sigit.

Furthermore, Sigit emphasized that an orderly fertilizer distribution process is expected to increase farmer productivity. This, Sigit said, could lead to food self-sufficiency, as directed by President Prabowo Subianto.

Therefore, Sigit instructed all police forces to exert maximum and optimal efforts in overseeing the fertilizer distribution process throughout Indonesia.

"I remind all ranks to monitor fertilizer distribution to ensure it reaches its intended target, optimizes farmer productivity, and ensures the President's target of increased food self-sufficiency is truly achieved," Sigit concluded.
