Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Inspector General Sandi Nugroho said on Friday (8/9/2023) that ensuring the safety and peace of the 2024 Elections is a shared responsibility of various stakeholders, including the mass media.
"Having differing choices in facing elections is normal, but our aim is unity and solidarity for Indonesia. We must prevent differences from causing division. I look forward to collaborating with all colleagues to achieve a peaceful Indonesia," he said.
Chief Executive Officer of Tempo Media Arief Zulkifli expressed his full support, saying that the collaboration between the press and the police as a commendable effort.
He expressed his profound gratitude for the Chief of the INP's stance in favor of press freedom.
"I was pleasantly surprised by the Chief of INP's direct request for guidelines on how the Profession and Internal Affair Division (Propam) should respond in cases of violence against journalists. This truly demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting press freedom," he said.
