Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) will soon announce suspects linked to the deadly flood disaster in North Sumatra after completing evidence verification and witness examinations, authorities said on Monday (15/12/2025).
“We will announce the suspects to the public, possibly by the end of this week,” said Brigadier General Moh. Irhamni, the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s Director of Specific Crimes, as reported by antaranews.com
The investigation focuses on flooding along the Garoga River Basin in South Tapanuli and the Anggoli River in Central Tapanuli. Police have questioned 16 witnesses from a company, PT TBS, after identifying logged timber at the disaster site as largely originating from the company. Authorities also secured heavy equipment, including excavators and a bulldozer, to trace ownership and activities at the location.
Chief Irhamni said that the probe aims to determine criminal responsibility, both individual and corporate, based on witness testimony, physical evidence, and expert analysis.
