Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  President Prabowo Subianto said Indonesia has sufficient capacity to manage disaster response in Sumatra without accepting foreign assistance, despite offers from several countries, citing strong national resources and coordinated operations.

“Many leaders called offering help, and I said thank you, Indonesia is capable,” Prabowo said during a Cabinet Plenary Session at the State Palace on Monday (15/12/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.

The President explained that the disasters affected Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra remain under control through rapid deployment of national assets. He noted that tens of thousands of personnel have been mobilized, supported by dozens of helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and continuous logistics distribution.

President Prabowo said that early response and inter-agency coordination enabled swift aid delivery, including evacuations, fuel supplies, and access to isolated areas, even under extreme weather and difficult terrain. He added that recovery is targeted to be completed within two to three months.
