Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo warned police personnel deployed to secure the 2024 elections to pay serious attention to terrorism threats .
"Terrorism is a serious concern," he said during the 2023-2024 Mantap Brata Operation preparation routine at the National Monument Square on Tuesday (17/10/2023).
Referring to six terrorist attacks during the 2019 elections, Chief Sigit ordered all police personnel involved in next year's election security to take preventive measures in a bid to anticipate such terrorist attacks.
"It must not happen again in the 2024 General Election," he was quoted by antaranews.com as saying.
The Mantap Brata Operation is scheduled from 19 October 2023 to 20 October 2024. It involves 261,695 personnel, including 2,000 personnel from the Mobile Brigade and 8,500 crowd control units, from the INP Headquarters and the regional police offices across the country.
