Inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Jambi Regional Police have named 12 individuals as suspects in a number of forest and land fires cases in the province.
Jambi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rusdi Hartono said on Tuesday (17/10/2023) that most of the suspects involved in forest fires were apprehended in the Batanghari Regency.
"The identification of these suspects is part of our efforts to educate the public not to engage in similar actions," he said.
Chief Rusdi emphasized that setting fire to forests and land harmed the community significantly, and such actions must face strict law enforcement.
The Batanghari Police have named four suspects responsible for forest fires, while the other suspects were from various districts, including Muaro Jambi and Tanjung Jabung Barat.
The total areas of forests and land affected by the fires in Jambi reached 1,954 hectares.
