Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has reiterated its commitment to taking firm action against individuals and groups exploiting civil society organizations, locally known as ormas, to engage in extortion and disrupt investments.

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division Head of the Public Information Bureau, said on Saturday (15/3/2025) that police will not tolerate criminal activities under the guise of ormas, which threaten business stability and economic growth.

“Polri will not tolerate any form of gang activity that jeopardizes investment and national economic stability,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Before enforcement, authorities prioritize preventive measures, including education and community outreach, to deter unlawful activities. Public awareness is also key, ensuring businesses and citizens recognize and report intimidation tactics.

All complaints from investors will be taken seriously, with the INP providing protection for whistleblowers. Reports of extortion and threats can be submitted via the 110 police hotline.

Chief Trunoyudo stressed that maintaining a safe investment climate is crucial for national economic growth.
