inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked his staff to sterilize places of worship ahead of the 2024 Christmas. Sterilization was carried out to anticipate the threat of terror during the celebration of Christmas.

The instruction was given through Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto during 2024 Lilin Jaya Operation roll call at National Monument, Central Jakarta, on Friday (12/20/2024).

"Security of places of worship are also an important part that cannot be separated from the Christmas and New Year security operation. Therefore, ensure that every place of worship has been sterilized, detect and prevent any potential security disturbance, including acts of terror," said Karyoto on Friday (12/20/2024).

Karyoto said his party will also inspect the congregations with X-Ray to prevent dangerous items from entering the place of worship.

He also asked his staff to participate in collaborating with religious mass organizations in carrying out security to create religious tolerance. He said that his party always ensures that all activities run smoothly.

"The success of Nataru security is our shared responsibility. For that, continue to increase solidarity and synergy in carrying out tasks. Because this is the main key to the success of an operation," added the Chief of Police.
