Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps launched a Digital Driver’s License (SIM Digital) during the 2026 Traffic Function Technical Working Meeting in Jakarta on Friday (22/5/2026).
The innovation aims to simplify public access to licensing services.
“This is the latest innovation from the Traffic Corps, integrated with the Signal system for SIM, vehicle registration, and ownership services,” said INP Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Digital SIM can be accessed via the Traffic Corps application, eliminating the need to carry a physical card. It uses a dynamic barcode that changes every 10 seconds to prevent forgery and has been certified by the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN).
The Traffic Corps also introduced mobile drone-based electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE), capable of detecting violations and facial recognition in a bid to enhance traffic services through digital transformation.
