Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency reaffirmed on Tuesday (19/5/2026) its commitment to strictly prosecute any police personnel implicated in narcotics networks, following the recent dismissal and arrest of a former anti-drug unit chief in West Kutai, East Kalimantan, for money laundering and protecting a local drug ring.
"The INP Chief's orders are crystal clear: any member who dares to play around with drugs will be strictly sanctioned," said Head of the INP Criminal Investigation Agency Commissioner General Syahardiantono in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
Director of Drug Crimes Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso emphasized that criminal trials will proceed alongside internal ethics hearings, which carry Dishonorable Discharge (PTDH) penalties.
He noted that after being dismissed, compromised officers will face public courts as civilians without special facilities, adding that their former status as law enforcers would serve as an aggravating factor in sentencing.
