The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Anti-Mafia Football Task Force has received appreciation from the Executive Director of the Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi), Edi Hasibuan, for its achievement in uncovering the match-fixing cases in Liga 2 football matches.
"Capturing mafia syndicates involved in football like this is certainly not easy. This is good work. We appreciate this achievement. It's not easy to expose a syndicate like this," he said on Thursday (28/9/23), saying that the acheivement should be attributed to INP Chief,General Police. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who responded to public complaints.
"We appreciate the performance of the football task force led by Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri. Of course, we expect this task force to continue working and not stop here, but we request that this task force be sustained so that no more football mafia activities emerge. In essence, all forms of football mafia activities must be stopped," he explained.
The Anti-Mafia Football Task Force has named six suspects implicated in the match-fixing cases in Liga 2 football matches.
